Allied Telesis Surpasses 50,000 Port Milestone with Integra Telecom
SAN JOSE, Calif., May 11, 2009 - Allied Telesis, a global provider of secure IP/Ethernet access solutions and an industry leader in the deployment of IP Triple Play networks over copper and fiber access infrastructures, announced today that Integra Telecom has surpassed the 50,000 service port milestones with Allied Telesis market-leading iMAP Multi-service access platform.
Integra Telecom, headquartered in Portland, Oregon, is an innovative and progressive service provider who has adopted IP for powering its ILEC and CLEC business operations, and made a major market expansion in 2007 into three additional states for a total of 11 states served. This expansion resulted in an equally large growth in iMAP service ports. Integra Telecom selected the iMAP in 2006 based on its all-IP architecture and multiservice capabilities, which gave them the desired flexibility and functionality for their subscriber services network.
“We looked closely at what the market had to offer, and chose the Allied Telesis iMAP because we felt it was the best access platform that offered the combination of scalable chassis, copper and fiber service options, and offered zero-touch provisioning from a true Ethernet–based platform,” said Craig Heidgerken, VP of Engineering Services for Integra. “Our decision to partner with Allied Telesis in 2006 has proved to be a good one as evidenced by the number of subscribers and states now supported on iMAP in our network.”
Integra deploys the iMAP primarily for voice and broadband data services to its business customers to support its Broadband Internet service.
According to Bill Allen, Vice President of Sales and Operations for Allied Telesis, “Integra understands and utilizes the full spectrum of services and applications the iMAP offers. Most importantly, Integra has leveraged on the tremendous CapEx and OpEx advantages iMAP has to offer. Minimizing operational costs to serve business customers combined with streamlined provisioning protocols that enables rapid service rollout, are key benefits of the iMAP platform.”
