SAN JOSE, CA – March 27, 2018 - Allied Telesis, a leading provider of hardware and software products that allow customers to build secure, feature-rich and scalable data exchange solutions, is delighted to announce that its SwitchBlade x908 GEN2 high-capacity modular switch won the Hardware Product of the Year award at this year’s Network Computing Awards in London, UK. This is the second time Allied Telesis has taken the top award at this prestigious event. Last year we were awarded Best New Hardware Product with the IE300 industrial switch.

The Network Computing Awards were established 12 years ago to recognize solutions that help enterprise networks perform better. This year 35,000 votes were cast by approximately 5,500 individuals using an online nominating and voting model. Seventy percent of these votes were cast by readers of Network Computing magazine, although voting is open to everyone.

The SwitchBlade x908 GEN2 is the newest modular chassis product from Allied Telesis and was developed specifically to address the bandwidth and scalability demands of todays’ IoT-driven networks. Featuring eight hot-swappable module bays allowing a variety of 1G/10G, 40G and 100G port configurations, the x908 GEN2 can stack over long distances, making it ideal for network cores or distributed backbones where high-speed, reliable interconnect is critical.

"We’re very proud that our SwitchBlade x908 GEN2 switch has been recognized at such a prestigious event", said Graham Walker, Product Marketing Director. "We believe that its performance and flexibility make it an ideal choice for Enterprise networks, and that’s been confirmed by the voting public."

Although the GEN2 was the star of the show, Allied Telesis was placed runner-up in several other categories, including:

  • Network Infrastructure Product Of The Year: Allied Telesis AMF Security (AMF-Sec) Controller
  • Data Centre Product Of The Year: Allied Telesis x550 10 Gig Switch
  • Network Management Product Of The Year: Allied Telesis Vista Manager EX
