Standalone Mode
AWC Plug-in has an emergency mode called "Standalone Mode". This allows you a direct, local access to the plug-in's management web interface in the unlikely event of Vista Manager EX failing.
NoteTo enable Standalone Mode, you have to create a public key during the installation process.
NoteWhen Standalone Mode is enabled, it is possible for a user to login to the server and configure any aspect of the AWC Plug-in without entering a password. We recommend only enabling Standalone Mode in an emergency.
Enable Standalone Mode
- Log on to your PC (a remote system) as a user with Administrator rights.
- Open the [Vista Manager EX Installation Directory]\Plugins\AT-AWC\tools\change_standalone folder with Windows Explorer. Create a copy of the public key file "public-key.pem" that was created during the installation process.
Note
If you selected "Create public key" during the installation process, "public-key.pem" was created in the following folder:
C:\Users\ [USERNAME] \Documents\Allied Telesis\AT-Vista Manager EX\certs\public-key.pem
This public key file allows you to access all the functionality of the AWC Plug-in and SNMP Plug-in without entering an administrator password. Take extreme care to store the public key file securely by setting appropriate access permissions.
- Right-click [Vista Manager EX Installation Directory]\Plugins\AT-AWC\tools\change_standalone\change_standalone.bat and select "Run as administrator" from the context menu.
- Right-click [Vista Manager EX Installation Directory]\Plugins\AT-AWC\root\reboot.bat and select "Run as administrator" from the context menu.
- Close your web browser completely.
Access Management Screen in Standalone Mode
- Open a web browser.
- Enter the URL of the AWC Plug-in server (https://localhost:5443/) and press Enter.
- After successful login, the main screen of the AWC Plug-in will appear.
Note
The AWC Plug-in's management web interface is in English.
