Update AP Firmware

You can update the firmware of managed APs from the AWC Plug-in's management web interface.
The steps to update the firmware are:

Even if several different AP models are used on your network, you can update the firmware of those APs in a single operation by uploading and assigning appropriate firmware for each AP.

For a list of wireless AP firmware versions that support updates, please refer to Overview > What is the AWC Plug-in > Supported AP Models.
If you are using APs with older firmware versions than those listed in Supported AP Models, update them to the supported version. This can be done using the "TQ Series Firmware Update" tool, or through the AP's management web interface. Please refer to your TQ's Installation Guide for more details on the tool.

Update Firmware

Note
The number of APs that can be updated at a time depends on the traffic rate between the AWC Plug-in and each AP.
If the traffic rate between the AWC Plug-in and each AP is 1 Gbps, the maximum number of APs that can be updated at one time is approximately 200 for the TQ5403, TQ5403e and TQm5403, otherwise it is up to 350 units.
If the bands are used for other communication, the maximum may be less than the above number.
Note
If you perform update operations in succession, put a wait (30 sec per 1 AP) between operations.
Note
You can create a scheduled task to update firmware.
Refer to Manage Task Scheduling for more details on scheduling.

  1. Select "Wireless Configuration" > "AP Settings" from the AWC Plug-in menu.
