Configure AP through Its Own Web Interface

With a few exceptions, all AP functions are configured through the AWC Plug-in.

• TQ series
  
  • TQ2450, TQ3400, TQ3600, TQ4400, TQ4400e, TQ4600
    Only the following settings can be changed through a TQ2450, TQ3400, TQ3600, TQ4400, TQ4400e, or TQ4600's own management web interface:
    
    • Basic Configuration > Username (Administrator), Password
      

      Note

      Use this only as a preparatory step to let an AP be detected as a guest node.
      Make sure that the guest node's username and password match the ones for the guest-class configured on a parent AMF node.
      Change the non-guestnode username and password to an AP-specific configuration.

    • Advanced Configuration / Ethernet Configuration
      
    • Optional Configuration > LLDP
      
    • Optional Configuration > HTTP/HTTPS Configuration
      
    Do not change other settings on the AP's management web interface.
    Refer to "AT-TQ Series Reference Manual" for its management web interface.
    
    
  • TQ1402, TQ5403, TQ5403e, TQm1402, TQm5403
    Only the following settings can be changed through a TQ1402, TQ5403, TQ5403e, TQm1402, or TQm5403 's own management web interface:
    
    • System > Communication
      
    • System > Web
      
    • System > LLDP
      
    • LAN Configuration > Link Aggregation (TQ5403 only)
      

      Note

      When you enable a static LAG on a TQ5403, you also have to configure a static channel group on an AW+ switch to which the AP is connected.
      Also note that when you use a LAG to connect an AP to an AMF node, you cannot add the AP from a guest node list, and Zero Touch Configuration and Auto Recovery are not supported.

    • Account > User
      

      Note

      Use this only as a preparatory step to let an AP be detected as a guest node.
      Make sure that the guest node's username and password match the ones for the guest-class configured on a parent AMF node.
      Change the non-guestnode username and password to an AP-specific configuration.

    • Account > Language
      
    Do not change other settings on the AP's management web interface.
    Refer to the TQ5403, TQm5403, TQ5403e, TQ1402, or AT-TQm1402 Reference Manual for details of its management web interface.
    
  
  
• MWS AP Series
  For MWS AP series, functions which are not covered by the AWC Plug-in are unsupported, except for essential configuration such as IPv4 address, STP (AT-MWS2533AP only) and LACP (AT-MWS2533AP only).
  Do not configure an MWS AP through its own management web interface except for those basic elements.
  Refer to the MWS AP series Reference Manual on our website for details of initial configuration.
  

If you change an AP's configuration from its management web interface, make sure you follow the steps below.
If you change an AP's configuration through its web interface using other methods, the AWC Plug-in becomes unable to detect and manage the AP.

1. Login to the AWC Plug-in as a user account that can access a Management Group to which the target AP belongs.
   
   
2. Select "Wireless Configuration" > "AP Settings" from the AWC Plug-in menu.
   
   
3. Select the target AP from a list of APs.
   
   
4. Put the mouse cursor on the gear icon at the top right of the screen and select "Delete" from the submenu.
   
   
5. Wait for at least a minute to make sure that the AP is no longer managed by the AWC Plug-in.
   
   
6. Change the AP configuration through its own management web interface.
   
   
7. When you finish the configuration changes, select "Wireless Configuration" > "AP Settings" from the AWC Plug-in menu.
   
   
8. Put the mouse cursor on the gear icon at the top right of the screen and select "Add Manually" from the submenu.
   
   
9. Enter the required information in the "Wireless AP Registration" dialog box and click "Add".
   * If you have changed the AP's IP address, enter a new IP address in the "Wireless AP Registration" dialog box.
   
   
10. An AP-specific configuration page will appear.
    
    
11. Click the "Edit" button at the top right of the "Configuration Information" section to open the "Select AP Profile" dialog box.
    
    
12. Select an AP Profile that has been assigned to the AP and click "Select".
    
    
13. Click "Save" at the top right of the AP-specific Configuration page.
    
    
14. Select "Wireless Configuration" > "AP Settings" from the AWC Plug-in menu.
    
    
15. Check the AP whose Management Group you just changed.
    
    
16. Put the mouse cursor on the spanner icon at the top right of the screen and select "Apply Configuration" from the submenu.
    
    
17. When the "Apply Configuration" dialog box appears, click "OK".
    
    
18. When a completion message appears, click "Close".
