CB Profile


A CB Profile defines common parameters for use with multiple channel blankets and is applied to APs which will belong to those channel blankets.
This page lets you create, edit and delete CB Profiles. It also enables you to create channel blankets with CB Profiles.

Table 1
Item Name Description
"CB Profile" button Shows a list of CB Profiles.
"Channel Blanket" button Shows a list of channel blankets.
"Create" button Shows the page for creating a new CB Profile.
Refer to Operation Reference > Channel Blanket > Configure CB Profile for more details.
"Apply Config" button
Opens the "Apply Configuration" dialog box. This allows you to apply changes to the selected CB Profile to APs that have been assigned the CB Profile.


  • X AP:
    Shows the number of APs to which the CB Profile is applied.

  • Device Name:
    Shows the name of the AP. If the AP was added from the Guest Node List, the guest node name is displayed.

  • IP Address:
    Shows the AP's IP address.
    If the Management Status is "Waiting", "Retrieving" is shown.

  • MAC Address:
    Shows the device's MAC address.
    If the Management Status is "Waiting", "Retrieving" is shown.

  • Management Status:
    Shows the Management Status of the AP.
    • Unmanaged:
      The AP is not managed because one of the IP address, MAC address or AP Profile is not configured.

    • Discovering:
      The AWC Plug-in is searching for the AP.

    • Applying:
      The AWC Plug-in is applying a configuration update to the AP.

    • Managed:
      The AP is being managed by the AWC Plug-in.

    • Waiting:
      The AP was provisioned by AMF configuration and has just been assigned an AP Profile.
      Or, the AP was provisioned to use DHCP to register IP/MAC addresses to the AWC Plug-in, and has just been assigned an AP Profile.

    • Failed:
      The AP is no longer managed by the AWC Plug-in.
    • Not Authenticated:
      The AP cannot be managed because the number of managed APs reached the maximum number allowed by the registered Wireless AP licenses. Or, the AP cannot be managed because the AP belongs to a Channel Blanket or Smart Connect (available in a later release) network but the number of managed APs reached the maximum number allowed by the registered Channel Blanket / Smart Connect licenses.

  • Config Status:
    Shows the configuration status of the AP.
    • Not Configured:
      The AP is not fully configured.

    • Not Applied:
      The configuration has not been applied to the AP by the AWC Plug-in.

    • Latest:
      The latest configuration has been applied to the AP.

    • Pending:
      An out-of-date configuration has been applied to the AP (newer configuration has not been applied).

  • AP Profile / SC Profile:
    Shows associated AP Profile.
    With AWC-SC (available in a later release), if SC Profiles are assigned to all the Management Groups APs belong to, each row of this column shows the SC Profile name that is assigned to the Management Group, regardless whether the AP actually supports AWC-SC and whether AWC-SC is enabled on the AP.

  • "OK" buttton:
    Applies changes to the AP Profile to APs.
    It also applies pending AP-specific configuration updates to APs.

  • "Cancel" button:
    Closes the dialog box without applying the AP Profile.

Table 2: CB Profile List
Item Name Description
X CB Profile Shows the number of CB Profiles.
X SELECTED Shows the number of selected CB Profiles.
Search CB Profile.
Lets you search and filter CB Profiles in the list.
The Search field lets you enter a partial string to match. The screen displays entries with that string in one of the following fields: "CB Profile Name" or "Management Group".
To remove the filter, delete the string from the Search field and press Enter.
Note
The search is case-sensitive.
CB Profile List
Checkbox Lets you select or deselect CB Profiles. A checkbox in the header row can be used to check or uncheck all CB Profiles. Unchecking the box in the heading row deselects all entries in the list.
CB Profile Name Shows the CB Profile name.
Management Group Shows the list of Management Groups for the CB Profile.
Assigned APs Shows the number of APs to which the CB Profile is assigned.
Unapplied APs Shows the number of APs for which pending configuration (CB Profile, AP Profile or AP-specific configuration) exists.
Detail (magnifying glass icon) Shows the "CB Profile Details" page. Refer to Operation Reference > Channel Blanket > Configure CB Profile for a detailed description of the "CB Profile Details" page.
Channel Blanket List
Checkbox Lets you select or deselect CB Profiles. A checkbox in the header row can be used to check or uncheck all CB Profiles. Unchecking the box in the heading row deselects all entries in the list.
Channel Blanket Name Shows the name of the channel blanket.
CB Profile Name Shows a CB Profile applied to the channel blanket.
Management Group Shows the list of Management Groups for the CB Profile.
Assigned APs Shows the number of APs that belong to the channel blanket.
Unapplied APs Shows the number of APs for which pending configuration (CB Profile, AP Profile or AP-specific configuration) exists.
Detail (magnifying glass icon) Shows "Channel Blanket Details" page. Refer to Operation Reference > Channel Blanket > Create Channel Blanket's View Channel Blanket Information for more details.
