Change Plug-in Server's IP Address and Port
This section explains how to change the IP address and/or the port used by the AWC Plug-in and the SNMP Plug-in server.
NoteAfter restarting the server or changing the IP address or port of the server, the AWC Plug-in shows the last retrieved Management Status for unreachable APs. This may not be up-to-date. Once the APs become reachable again, the latest status will be displayed.
Change Server IP Address
To change the AWC Plug-in and SNMP Plug-in server's IP address, follow the steps below. If you have registered both the AWC and SNMP Plug-ins, the following procedures change both servers' IP address.
NoteWhen you change the IP Address of the AWC Plug-in, operate with the AWC Plug-in service running.
If operated without the AWC Plug-in service, the change might not be applied correctly.
- Right-click [Vista Manager EX Installation Directory]\Plugins\AT-AWC\tools\change_server_ip_address\change_server_ip_address.bat and click "Run as administrator".
- Select the new address and click "Change" on the "Change Server IP Address" tool.
- When the "Are you sure you want to change the IP address? " message appears, click "Yes".
- When you see the message "The IP address has been successfully changed. If AWC Plug-in has been installed, please restart the AT-AWC Server by using the menu item on the program menu. ", click "OK" and close the tool.
- From the Windows program menu, select "AT-Vista Manager EX" > "AT-AWC - Stop Server".
This runs a batch file, which will terminate the AWC Plug-in processes.
If you have installed the SNMP Plug-in, stop the SNMP Plug-in processes by selecting "AT-Vista Manager EX" > "AT-SNMP - Stop Server" from the program menu.
- After the batch file to stop the server has finished, select "AT-Vista Manager EX" > "AT-AWC - Start Server" to restart the AWC Plug-in processes.
If you have installed the SNMP Plug-in, start the SNMP Plug-in processes by selecting "AT-Vista Manager EX" > "AT-SNMP - Start Server" from the program menu.
NoteIf you changed the server's IP address, make sure you do step 5 and 6 in order to restart the Plug-in processes regardless of whether you restarted Windows or not.
NoteAfter changing the IP address, you must re-register the AWC Plug-in in the Vista Manager EX "Plug-in Management" screen to access each screen from the AWC Plug-in menu. For more information, see the Vista Manager EX User Guide.
If you have changed the port of the AWC Plug-in service, specify the port number after the hostname and a colon, for example "192.168.1.1:8443".
Change Server Port
To change the port used by AWC Plug-in server, do the following steps.NoteVista Manager EX's server ports (5000 and 443) and the SNMP Plug-in's port (6443) cannot be changed.
NoteThe management web interfaces of the AWC Plug-in and SNMP Plug-in cannot be accessed via plain HTTP.
To access Vista Manager EX's management web interface via HTTPS, you have to configure it on Vista Manager EX's "System Management" page after the initial configuration is complete. See the "HTTPS access to Vista Manager EX" section of the Vista Manager EX User Guide for more information.
NoteIf you change the AWC Plug-in's port, make sure you select a new port that does not conflict with the ports of other services on your server, including Vista Manager EX and the SNMP Plug-in.
- Right-click [Vista Manager EX Installation Directory]\Plugins\AT-AWC\tools\change_port\change_port.bat and select "Run as administrator" from the context menu.
- Enter a new port number when you are asked "Please enter the port number".
- When the batch file has finished running, the port number change is complete.
How to confirm the new port: Start a web browser and access localhost on the newly configured port. For example, if you changed the AWC Plug-in's port to 8443, access http://localhost:8443/ with your browser.
