Allied Telesis and Paramount Bed Co., Ltd. Partner to Support Next-Generation Medical Care Systems
SAN JOSE, CA – April 2nd, 2021 – Allied Telesis, a leading provider of hardware and software products that allow customers to build secure, feature-rich and scalable data exchange solutions, has announced a new partnership with Paramount Bed.
Paramount Bed was established in 1947 as a manufacturer of hospital beds, and soon diversified its range to include senior care and home care beds, products and services to meet the public need. Today, Paramount Bed provides industry-leading medical care products to over 110 countries worldwide.
Allied Telesis has partnered with Paramount Bed to provide cutting-edge wireless connection for Paramount Bed’s IoT terminals for next-generation medical care, including sleep mat sensors and eye scanners to monitor sleep quality and patient health.
The Paramount Bed “Nemuri SCAN” (Nemuri means sleep) sensor bed mat and the “Nemuri SCAN Eye” (1) camera work together as a contact-free patient monitoring system, to continuously measure sleep state, heart and respiratory rates to help caregivers with patient care, assessment and planning. Data can also be accessed from remote locations to provide complete cohesive care.

This monitoring system can greatly reduce the work burden on healthcare staff, however, effective operation requires a stable wireless LAN environment. This is where Allied Telesis comes in. Allied Telesis and Paramount Bed worked together to create a verification environment in which to test the brand-new monitoring system.
Allied Telesis innovative Autonomous Wave Control (AWC) wireless technology enables self-tuning Wi-Fi networks that provide the best possible performance. AWC Channel Blanket (AWC-CB) provides a single blanket of wireless coverage across the entire premises to support seamless roaming and consistent online access for all Wi-Fi mobile clients, as well as wireless devices like the Paramount sensor bed mats and cameras.
Using AWC technology with Allied Telesis TQ5403 access points has provided a highly stable wireless LAN that ensures always-on connectivity of the Nemuri SCAN sensor bed mats, and Nemuri SCAN Eye cameras. Hospital staff have continual access to patient monitoring information from anywhere at any time to support the best possible care.
Allied Telesis is pleased to announce that we have been certified as a recommended product by Paramount Bed. We will continue to collaborate in order to solve problems and create a highly functional, cutting edge medical environment.
