Allied Telesis Announces PC200 & PC2000 Unmanaged PoE+ Switching Media Converters

SAN JOSE, CA – May 12, 2017 - Allied Telesis, a leading provider of hardware and software products that allow customers to build secure, feature-rich, and scalable data exchange solutions, has launched the PC200 and PC2000 Series of unmanaged PoE+ switching media converters. With the ongoing, exponential growth in deployments of small PoE-enabled smart sensors such as surveillance cameras, network managers are often challenged with providing cost-effective access to PoE services for every required location. Adding a multi-port PoE switch for individual sensors or devices can be expensive and the solution is to deploy a more affordable switching media converter when a dedicated PoE switch port is not readily available.

The PC200 and PC2000 series offer a combined four models:

ModelPort 1Port 2
AT-PC2000/SC10/100/1000T POE+1000SX/SC
AT-PC2000/SP10/100/1000T POE+SFP (100MB or 1000MB)
AT-PC2000/LC10/100/1000T POE+1000SX/LC
AT-PC200/SC10/100/1000T POE+100FX/SC

“This is a simple, reliable and cost-effective solution to the growing problem of delivering power to every smart sensor and device wherever it may be,” said Philip Yim, Senior Vice President of Global Programs. “We continue to be the leading provider of media conversion technology and the PC200 and PC2000 series neatly address a growing need for PoE connectivity in remote locations.”

Both the PC200 and PC2000 series offers remote power cycling, which allows a network administrator to remotely recycle a connected sensor. This capability maximizes operational flexibility and reduces the need for costly site visits.
