Allied Telesis Premieres All-in-one Wireless AP Router

San Jose, CA – September 22, 2023 – Allied Telesis, a global leader in connectivity solutions and intelligent networking tools, is pleased to introduce the TQ6702 GEN2-R wireless AP router. Designed with both high-performance and high security in mind, this device combines a Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) access point and a secure VPN router in an innovative LAN and WAN solution. The all-in-one design enables a simplified yet comprehensive network for small businesses or enterprises with multiple locations.

The TQ6702 GEN2-R can be managed remotely by Vista Manager, Allied Telesis’s network automation and management platform, for rapid installation and automated network monitoring. Ease-of-use is ensured with a quick setup and automatic Wi-Fi tuning for hassle-free operation, combined with scannable QR codes for easy guest connection. Additionally, the VPN router enables secure site-to-site connectivity and DPI Rule Sharing enables firewall rules to be configured and updated centrally and synchronized with all sites automatically.

Other features include:

  • The ability to manage customer and staff Wi-Fi use with a captive portal, so new users are taken to a login page to authenticate before gaining online access.
  • A zone-based firewall ensures secure Internet connectivity, protecting users’ online access and preventing business leaks.
  • IPSec site-to-site VPNs connect branch locations to the head office, while SSL/TLS remote worker VPNs allow secure access to digital business resources.
  • Automatic backup of all units using AMF Plus Network Automation, allowing plug-and-play replacement and simplified visual management on the Vista Manager network map.

“Our customers mean everything to us, and we know how important it is for businesses of all sizes to keep costs down and technical operations as simple as possible. The TQ6702 GEN2-R router offers this simplicity with automated Wi-Fi management, easy VPN setup, and a powerful router/firewall to protect your business,” said Rahul Gupta, Chief Technology Officer at Allied Telesis. “Additionally, businesses will save on the time their IT staff spends managing the network. Because it’s an all-in-one solution, everything is integrated and automated, so it literally runs itself.”

AP clustering for small businesses and Allied Telesis’s flagship Autonomous Wave Control (AWC) wireless controller for enterprises will be supported in an upcoming software release so that any sized operation can enjoy easy management and automatic wireless LAN optimization.
