User Guide: AWC plug-in version 3.13.1 for VST-APL

Relocate AP

When relocating a working wireless AP, due to a change in the wireless network application or installation environment, you will need to delete the AP's device icon from the network map. This will delete the AP's settings from Vista Manager EX. Then, you will need to re-configure the AP's connection anew.

Note
If this procedure is omitted, the Vista Manager EX may not correctly display the management status of the AP.
  1. Remove the target AP and verify that it appears down on the Vista Manager EX network map.
  2. Remove the device icon and custom link for the removed AP.
To do this, select the device icon of the appropriate AP on the network map and click the "Delete" button from the side panel.
    Note
Since the AWC Plug-in still has the registration information of the wireless AP, even if the icon is deleted, it will reappear as a down state icon on the network map a few seconds later.
  3. (In the case the AP was a guest node) Disable the guest node configuration (switchport atmf-guestlink) on the switch to which it was originally connected.
  4. On the "AP Setting" screen of the AWC Plug-in, change "Use AMF for AP Provisioning" accordingly.
    • If you plan to use the AP as a non-guest node after relocation, disable "Use AMFfor AP Provisioning".
    • If you plan to use the AP as a guest node after relocation, enable "Use AMFfor AP Provisioning".
  5. (In the case the AP is a guest node) perform the guest node configuration (switchport atmf-guestlink) on the switch to which it will be connected thereafter.
  6. Connect the AP to the switch in the new location.
  7. (In the case the AP is not a guest node) create a custom link on the Vista Manager EX network map.
