Backup and Restore AWC Plug-in System
This section explains how to backup and restore the AWC Plug-in system.
NoteMake sure that directories and files used for backup and restoration do not contain any multibyte characters.
Backup System Data
System Data includes the AWC Plug-in's AP management configuration and system settings.NoteThe following settings are not backed up because they are environment-dependent. Please re-configure manually according to your environment:
- Server PC's IP address
- Protocol (http/https) used for Server PC's management web interface
- Server Certificate
NoteIt does not contain Vista Manager EX's AMF device information, licenses, and the SNMP Plug-in's network management data.
Data managed by Vista Manager EX and the SNMP plug-in system should be backed up by a separate utility for each system.
Therefore, it is recommended that you also take backups for Vista Manager EX and the SNMP Plug-in when you backup AWC Plug-in system data.
NoteIn the VST-VRT version, you can perform a backup and restoration fon the System Setting screen. It is recommended that you take a backup regularly.
NoteThe VST-VRT version of the AWC Plug-in does not come with an external utility to perform backups and restores.
- Log in to Vista Manager EX using an Admin account.
- Select "System Setting" from the AWC Plug-in menu.
- Check the "Include Log Data" checkbox to the right of the "Backup" button under "System Maintenance".
Checking the checkbox downloads the log data as a backup file as well.
If you do not need the log data, leave the checkbox unchecked.
- Click the "Backup" button in the System Maintenance section.
- After the backup is taken, download of the backup file starts.
Use your web browser's dialog box to save the backup file to your local computer.
A backup filename will be in the format of "config_atawc-X.X.X_-YYYYMMDDhhmmss.zip".
Restore System Data
NoteThe VST-VRT version of the AWC Plug-in does not support the restoration of backup files containing multibyte characters in the name of the scheduled operation.
NoteIn the VST-VRT version, you can perform a backup and restoration fon the System Setting screen. The users' network permissions database for the Management Group is retained in Vista Manager EX itself.
When restoring the backup file of the AWC Plug-in, the data related to the AWC Plug-in will be initialized once. If you restore the AWC Plug-in after Vista Manager EX, the network permissions information of the users for the Management Group will be deleted and the association may not be correct even after the restoration.
If you restore Vista Manager EX after the AWC Plug-in, the users' network permissions information for AWC Plug-in's Management Groups will be restored correctly.
When restoring only the backup file of the AWC Plug-in to the operating Vista Manager EX system, set the users' network permissions again after the restoration.
