Change Management Group or AP Profile for AP
This section covers the procedures to change the Management Group or the AP Profile for APs.
Change Management Group
There are two ways to change a Management Group for an AP.From the AP Settings menu in Wireless Configuration
- Select "Wireless Configuration" > "AP Settings" from the AWC Plug-in menu.
- Click the "Edit (pencil)" icon at the right of the AP you want to assign to another Management Group.
- The "Wireless AP Edit" dialog box will appear.
- Select a new Management Group for the AP from the "Management Group" drop-down list.
- Click "Save" to save the change and go back to the AP list.
Note
If the new Management Group does not contain the AP Profile that was applied to the AP from the previous Management Group, the AP's "AP Profile" becomes "Not Configured".
In that case, perform steps 2 and later of Change AP Profile (per AP) > From AP Settings Menu in Wireless Configuration.
- Check the AP whose Management Group you have just changed.
- Place the mouse cursor on the spanner icon at the top right of the screen and select "Apply Configuration" from the submenu.
- When the "Apply Configuration" dialog box appears, click "OK".
- When a completion message appears, click "Close".
From the AP Status menu in Wireless Monitoring
- Select "Wireless Monitoring" > "AP Status" from the AWC Plug-in menu.
- Click the "Details" (magnifying glass icon) to the right of the AP you want to assign to another Management Group.
- Opens the "Wireless AP Status Detail" page. Click the "Wireless AP Details" button at the top of the Content section.
- Click "Edit" at the top right of the "Basic Information" section.
- The "Wireless AP Edit" dialog box will appear.
- Select a new Management Group for the AP from the "Management Group" drop-down list.
- Click "Save".
- If you want to immediately apply changes to the AP, go on to do the following steps.
- Select "Wireless Configuration" > "AP Settings" from the AWC Plug-in menu.
- A list of wireless APs will appear.
- Check the AP whose Management Group you have just changed.
- Place the mouse cursor on the spanner icon at the top right of the screen and select "Apply Configuration" from the submenu.
- When the "Apply Configuration" dialog box appears, click "OK".
- When a completion message appears, click "Close".
Change AP Profile (per AP)
There are two ways to change an AP Profile for an AP.From the AP Settings menu in Wireless Configuration
- Select "Wireless Configuration" > "AP Settings" from the AWC Plug-in menu.
- A list of wireless APs will appear. Click the "Configuration" button at the top of the Content section.
- The AP list will switch to the Configuration Mode.
- Click the "AP Profile" drop-down list for the AP to which you want to assign another AP Profile.
- The "AP Profile Assignment" dialog box will appear.
The list on the left shows registered AP Profile Names and their Profile Types. Clicking an AP Profile shows its information on the right side of the dialog box.
It also lets you filter/search profiles by keywords.
The Search field lets you enter a partial string to match. The screen displays entries with that string in one of the following fields: "AP Profile Name", "Profile Type" or "Management Group". To remove the filter, delete the string from the search field and press enter.
Note
The search is case-sensitive.
- To change, select a new AP Profile to apply to the AP and click "Save".
- This returns you to the AP list, as in step 2.
- Check the AP whose Management Group you have just changed.
- Place the mouse cursor on the spanner icon at the top right of the screen and select "Apply Configuration" from the submenu.
- When the "Apply Configuration" dialog box appears, click "OK".
- When a completion message appears, click "Close".
From the AP Status menu in Wireless Monitoring
- Select "Wireless Monitoring" > "AP Status" from the AWC Plug-in menu.

Change AP Profile (in a batch)
To change the AP Profiles for multiple APs in a batch, follow the steps below:- Select "Wireless Configuration" > "AP Settings" from the AWC Plug-in menu.
- A list of wireless APs will appear. Check the APs whose AP Profile you want to change. They must all belong to the same Management Group.
- Click the "Gear" icon at the top right of the Content section.
- Click "Assign AP Profile" from the menu.
- The "AP Profile Assignment" dialog box will appear.
The list on the left shows registered AP Profile Names and their Profile Types. Clicking an AP Profile shows its information on the right side of the dialog box.
It also lets you filter/search profiles by keywords.

Apply Changes
If you want to instantly apply modified configuration from an AP Profile, perform "Apply Configuration to APs" after saving the AP Profile.To apply an AP Profile to APs, follow the steps below.
- Select "Wireless Configuration" > "AP Settings" from the AWC Plug-in menu.
- Select (Check) the APs to which you want to apply an AP Profile.
- Place the mouse cursor on the spanner icon at the top right of the screen and select "Apply Configuration" from the submenu.
- When the "Apply Configuration" dialog box appears, click "OK".
- When a completion message appears, click "Close".
NoteIf you want to apply an AP Profile to APs at a fixed date/time, you can create a schedule for the task.The maximum number of APs which can have an AP Profile applied in a single "Apply Configuration" action is 350.
