Replace AP
When a managed AP fails and needs to be replaced, you have to edit the AP's configuration to change its MAC address, and additionally its IP address if required.
NoteFirst, take a note of the new AP's MAC and IP addresses, then perform the following steps:If "Use AMF for AP Provisioning" is enabled in the AP's configuration, an automatic configuration update is possible through Auto Recovery. Refer to Operation Reference > Miscellaneous Settings > Zero Touch Configuration and Auto Recovery for more details.
- Select "Wireless Configuration" > "AP Settings" from the AWC Plug-in menu.
- Click the "Edit (pencil)" icon to the right of the AP you want to replace with the new one.
- The "Wireless AP Edit" dialog box will appear.
- Enter the new AP's MAC address in the "MAC Address" field.
- If required, enter the new IP address in the "IP Address" field.
Leave the IP address unchanged if you are going to use the same IP address on the new AP.
- Click "Save".
