User Guide: AWC plug-in version 3.15.0 for VST-VRT

Replace AP

When a managed AP fails and needs to be replaced, you have to edit the AP's configuration to change its MAC address, and additionally its IP address if required.

Note
If "Use AMF for AP Provisioning" is enabled in the AP's configuration, an automatic configuration update is possible through Auto Recovery. Refer to Operation Reference > Miscellaneous Settings > Zero Touch Configuration and Auto Recovery for more details.
First, take a note of the new AP's MAC and IP addresses, then perform the following steps:
  1. Select "Wireless Configuration" > "AP Settings" from the AWC Plug-in menu.
  2. Click the "Edit (pencil)" icon to the right of the AP you want to replace with the new one.
  3. The "Wireless AP Edit" dialog box will appear.
  4. Enter the new AP's MAC address in the "MAC Address" field.
  5. If required, enter the new IP address in the "IP Address" field.
Leave the IP address unchanged if you are going to use the same IP address on the new AP.
  6. Click "Save".
Once the new AP is successfully detected, the existing configuration for the failed AP is applied to the new AP, and will be managed by the AWC Plug-in.
