Add Device Manually

  1. Go to Add Device page.
  2. Select a subnet to which you want to add a device.

    Add Subnet and Subnet List links under the "Subnet Name" dropdown list let you add or edit subnets. Create a new subnet or edit an existing one as required before proceeding.
    Note
    When you move to other pages, data you have entered on this page will be lost.
    After creating or editing a subnet, start from step 1 again.
  3. Specify a SNMP parameter to retrieve the device information.
    • SNMP Parameter Name(Get):
      Select a Get Parameter Name used to get information from the device via SNMP.
    • SNMP Parameter Name(Set):
      Select a Set Parameter Name used to set information to the device via SNMP.
    "SNMP Parameter List" link under the SNMP Parameter Name(Set) dropdown list lets you move to SNMP Parameter List page where you can create, edit and delete SNMP Parameters. Create or edit SNMP parameters as needed.
    Note
    When you move to other pages, data you have input on this page will be lost.
    After creating or editing SNMP Parameters, start from step 1 again.
  4. Enter an administrative name, a hostname, a comment, an IPv4 address and a subnet mask of the device to add.
    • Name:
      Enter an administrative name of the device. Should be 1 to 255 characters in length, with alphabets, numbers and symbols (space " % , - < > ^ _ ` { | } ~ can be used).

      • When you set it to "Auto Detect", the plug-in determines an appropriate interval according to the device level of the device model name.
      • When you select "Input", input a value under 31622400 (seconds).

  5. Click "Add New".
    "Device Tree View" screen will appear.
    Once the device has been successfully added, it will be displayed under the parent subnet.
Note
When you add a device manually, there may be a case that its MAC address, IPv4 address and vendor name are not displayed on Device List page. In this case, delete the device and perform Auto Discovery on the target subnet. It may solve the issue and you would be able to see the information.
