Backup and Restore of SNMP Plug-in System
This section explains how to backup and restore SNMP Plug-in system.
System Data includes SNMP Plug-in's Node management configuration and account configuration.
The following information will be backed up.
- Information on nodes in the management database.
- MIB Files
- Log Files
- Configurations by "SNMP Plug-in Configuration" utility
- Configurations by "Action Command Configuration Utility"
- Configurations by "Event Filter Configuration Utility"
- Configurations by "Device Level Configuration Utility"
NoteThere's no function to initialize SNMP Plug-in database. But you can achieve the same result by creating a backup of SNMP Plug-in system just after its installation and restoring it.
NoteThe following settings are not backed up because they are environment-dependent. Please re-configure manually according to your environment:
- Server PC's IP address
NoteIt does not contain AVM EX's AMF device information, licenses and AWC Plug-in's AP management data.
Data managed by AVM EX and the AWC Plug-in system should be backed up by a separate utility for each system.
Therefore, it is recommended that you also take backups for AVM EX and AWC Plug-in when you backup SNMP Plug-in system data.
NoteIt is recommended that you take a backup regularly.
Backup System Data
- To preserve the latest information, it is recommended to stop SNMP Plug-in server.
To stop SNMP Plug-in server, select "AT-Vista Manager EX" > "AT-SNMP - Stop Server" from program menu.
- From Windows program menu, select "AT-Vista Manager EX", right-click "AT-SNMP - Backup" and click "Run as administrator".
- "Backup Utility" dialog box will appear.
- Enter a filename and comment (optional).
The default filename is "smbackup.cab".
- Click "Run".
Progress of the backup process is shown in the dialog box.
Note
It may take time when SNMP Plug-in is managing a large number of devices.
- After the backup process has finished, a dialog box which shows the backup is over will appear. Click "OK".
Restore System Data
To restore system data for the SNMP Plug-in, you have to unregister the SNMP Plug-in from AVM EX, restore its backup file, then re-register the Plugin.NoteTo use the latest MIB information when restoring a backup file of software version 2.3.x or earlier to software version 2.4.0 or later, uncheck the "Restore MIB Information" in the "Restore Utility" dialog box of the SNMP Plug-in.
NoteRestoring a backup file made on another platform is not supported.
Unregister SNMP Plug-in
If you have registered the SNMP Plug-in on the AVM EX's Plugin Management page, unregister the Plugin.- Select "System Management" from the main menu.
- Select "Plug-ins" in the list on the left side of the Content section.
- Click "SNMP Plug-in" in the plug-in list at the bottom right of the screen.
- Click "Delete Plug-in" at the top right of the plug-in information.
- A confirmation message will be displayed in the "Delete Plug-in" dialog box.
Click "Delete" again.
Restore
- To stop SNMP Plug-in server, select "AT-Vista Manager EX" > "AT-SNMP - Stop Server" from program menu.
- From Windows program menu, select "AT-Vista Manager EX", right-click "AT-SNMP - Restore" and click "Run as administrator".
- "Restore Utility" dialog box will appear.
- Specify the backed up .cab file in "Filename" and click "OK". A confirmation dialog box will appear then.
- Check the option items and click "Run" to start restoration of data file. Upon the completion of the restore process, a result dialog box will appear.
- To start SNMP Plug-in server, select "AT-Vista Manager EX" > "AT-SNMP - Start Server" from program menu.
Re-register SNMP Plug-in
- Select "System Management" from the main menu.
- Select "Plug-ins" in the list on the left side of the Content section.
- Click "Add Plug-in" on the right side of the "Plug-in Management" screen.
- Enter SNMP Plug-in's URL in "Server URL:" fields.
- SNMP Plug-in: https://localhost:6443/NetManager
- SNMP Plug-in: https://localhost:6443/NetManager
- When a response is received from the SNMP Plug-in URL, SHA1 and SHA256 fingerprints of the plug-in certificate will be displayed in "Plugin Certificate Fingerprints" field.
Confirm the fingerprints and click "Save" to register the plug-ins.
- Upon successful registration, "SNMP Plug-in" will be added to the plug-in name list.
SNMP Plug-in menu Icon will be also added to the AVM EX main menu.
