User Guide: Vista Manager SNMP Plug-in version 2.9.1

Server IP Address Configuration Tool

This section explains how to change the IP address and/or the port used by the AWC Plug-in and the SNMP Plug-in server.
Note
After restarting the server or changing the IP address or port of the server, the AWC Plug-in shows the last retrieved Management Status for unreachable APs. This may not be up-to-date. Once the devices become reachable, the latest status will be displayed.

Change Server IP Address

To change SNMP Plugin server's IP address, follow the steps below.
If only SNMP plug-ins are registered in AVM EX, running the following tool will change the IP address of the SNMP plug-in server.
[AVM EX Installation Directory]\Plugins\AT-SNMP\NetManager\tools\change_server_ip_addresschange_server_ip_address.bat
Also, if both AWC and SNMP plug-ins are registered, the IP addresses of both servers will be changed at once by running the following tool.
[AVM EX Installation Directory]\Plugins\AT-AWC\tools\change_server_ip_address\change_server_ip_address.bat
Note
When you change the IP Address of the AWC Plug-in, operate with the AWC Plug-in service running.
If operated while the AWC Plug-in service is being stopped, the operation result might not be applied correctly.
  1. Right-click on one of the following change_server_ip_address.bat and click "Run as administrator".
    • To change the server IP address for SNMP plug-in only
      . [AVM EX Installation Directory]\Plugins\AT-SNMP\NetManager\tools\change_server_ip_addresschange_server_ip_address.bat
    • To change the server IP address of AWC plug-in as well as SNMP plug-in
      [AVM EX Installation Directory]\Plugins\AT-AWC\tools\change_server_ip_address\change_server_ip_address.bat
  2. Select the new address and click "Change" on the "Change Server IP Address" tool.
  3. When the "Are you sure you want to change the IP address? " message appears, click "Yes".
  4. When you see the message "The IP address has been successfully changed. If AWC Plug-in has been installed, please restart the AT-AWC Server by using the menu item on the program men ", click "OK" and close the tool.
  5. From the Windows program menu, select "AT-Vista Manager EX" > "AT-AWC - Stop Server".
This runs a batch file, which will terminate the AWC Plug-in processes.
If you have installed the SNMP Plug-in, stop the SNMP Plug-in processes by selecting "AT-Vista Manager EX" > "AT-SNMP - Stop Server" from the program menu.
  6. After the batch file to stop the server has finished, select "AT-Vista Manager EX" > "AT-AWC - Start Server" to restart the AWC Plug-in processes.
If you have installed the SNMP Plug-in, start the SNMP Plug-in processes by selecting "AT-Vista Manager EX" > "AT-SNMP - Start Server" from the program menu.
Note
If you changed the server's IP address, make sure you do step 5 and 6 in order to restart the Plug-in processes regardless of whether you restarted Windows or not.
Note
If you have registered the AWC and/or SNMP plug-ins on AVM EX, you have to re-register the plug-ins on the Plug-in Management page after changing the IP address.
If you have changed the port of the AWC Plug-in service, specify the port number after the hostname and a colon, for example "192.168.1.1:8443".
